About the role
AMD is hiring a Sr. Firmware Engineer to research, design, develop, and test operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software for semiconductor operations.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug computer software for electronic device hardware.
- Develop software and tools in support of electronic design, infrastructure, and technology platforms, including operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, and databases.
- Determine hardware compatibility and influence hardware design.
- Work on computer systems-level software problems of complex scope requiring analysis of varied factors.
- Apply engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of AMD systems and products.
What you'll need
- Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 2 years of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.
- 2 years of experience performing software verification.
- 2 years of experience with C, C++, or Python.
- 2 years of experience designing and developing automated tests.
- 2 years of experience in embedded driver development and firmware development.
- 2 years of experience with high speed memory interfaces (HBM, DDR, or GDDR).
