About the role
AMD is hiring a Sr. Software Development Engineer to research, design, develop, and debug systems-level software and tools in support of infrastructure and technology platforms. The role involves developing software programs, determining hardware compatibility, and supporting systems spanning operating systems, compilers, networks, and utilities.
What you'll do
- Research, design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software programs for enhancements and new products.
- Develop software and tools in support of design, infrastructure, and technology platforms, including operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, and utilities.
- Determine hardware compatibility and influence hardware design.
- Develop systems-level software, solving complex problems requiring analysis of multiple technical factors.
- Apply engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of AMD systems and products.
What you'll need
- Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- One (1) year of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.
- One (1) year of experience with C and C++.
- One (1) year of experience in Unix and Linux environments.
- One (1) year of experience with modern concurrent programming and threading APIs.
- One (1) year of experience with CPU and GPU architecture.
- One (1) year of experience creating C models for design and performing software verification.
- One (1) year of experience with software development processes and tools, including debuggers, profilers, and source code control systems such as GitHub.
