About the role
AMD is hiring a Sr. Software Development Engineer to research, design, develop, and test operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software for semiconductor operations.
What you'll do
- Research, design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug systems-level software programs and tools for enhancements and new products.
- Develop software and tools supporting design, infrastructure, and technology platforms, including operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, databases, and cloud-based tools.
- Determine hardware compatibility and influence hardware design.
- Apply engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD systems and products.
- Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to select methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for complex technical problems under limited supervision.
What you'll need
- Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
- 2 years of experience as a software development engineer or closely related engineering occupation.
- 2 years of experience performing software verification.
- 2 years of experience with Agile software development.
- 2 years of experience programming in C, C++, or Python.
- 2 years of experience with MS SQL Server, Git, and Java or JavaScript.
