About the role

This role involves the design of RF modules from concept to production release for applications including Cellular Base Station, GPS, Radar, Satellite, and CATV.

What you'll do

  • Own RF module design and development projects from inception to production release.
  • Perform circuit level design of RF sub-systems, EM simulations, and impedance matching circuits.
  • Prepare technical proposals for customers.
  • Prepare and present technical and project reviews internally and to external customers.
  • Work with test engineering to characterize prototypes and optimize designs for performance, yield, reliability, and cost.

What you'll need

  • MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or Physics with a focus on RF Design/Electromagnetics plus 2+ years of RF module design experience.
  • Understanding of RF/Microwave module design including circuit and electromagnetics level simulations.
  • Working knowledge of RF simulation tools such as Keysight ADS and HFSS.
  • Experience with impedance matching techniques and matching circuit design.
  • Ability to create 3D circuit models using EM tools and run simulations on RF/Microwave structures.
  • Working knowledge of RF test techniques for noise, s-parameters, linearity and lab equipment such as Vector Network Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer, Oscilloscopes.
  • Experience with IPD (Integrated Passive Device) die design.

Nice to have

  • Working knowledge of multi-chip module (MCM) packaging processes.
  • Previous experience with passive RF components.
  • Understanding of MMIC technologies such as GaAs, RF SOI, GaN.
  • Exposure to MMIC design, with preference for GaAs HBT and/or PHEMT design background.
  • Experience with high rejection/high isolation filter design.
  • Experience with AWR and Cadence simulations toolsets.
  • Programming experience with Python and/or Matlab.
