About the role

Skyworks Standardization and RF System team is seeking a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer with experience in 3GPP wireless system design, LTE and NR standards, and Tx simulation and measurements to grow the RAN4 team. You will develop simulation tools and measurement methods to evaluate the technical feasibility of proposed features and contribute to RAN4 submissions.

What you'll do

  • Participate in RAN4 3GPP NR and future 6G standardization international meetings, IWPC meetings, and ETSI meetings to drive Skyworks technical interests.
  • Contribute directly to strategic work items impacting RFFE, leveraging partnerships with operators and 3GPP members to influence specification directions.
  • Address operator requirements regarding spectrum use, band combinations, and CA combinations, performing coexistence analysis (MSD) and analyzing emerging features.
  • Support internal systems, design, marketing, and application engineering teams with updates on new standards, features, bands, and band combinations relevant to RFFE specification and technology.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert to transfer key learnings to business divisions through quarterly reviews covering 3GPP developments and operator demands.

What you'll need

  • Master's degree with at least 12 years of wireless system engineering experience, or a BS with 15 years, or a PhD with 8 years of experience.
  • Hands-on experience analyzing wireless standards including 6G, 5G NR, LTE, UMTS, and 2G.
  • Hands-on RF measurement experience and MATLAB RF path modelling.
  • Completed coursework in stochastic processes, electromagnetics (propagation and antenna theory), Fourier analysis, microwave circuit theory, and digital communications.

Nice to have

  • Experience in filter or MMIC design.
  • Radio theory of operation and behavioral modeling for LTE/NR RF and Baseband systems.
  • Co-existence management across multiple technologies.
  • PA system design and efficiency enhancement techniques.
