About the role
The Senior Facilities HVAC Engineer is responsible for the design, installation, commissioning, and operation of HVAC systems for Amkor's OSAT factory. This includes cleanroom air systems, exhaust systems, solvent exhaust abatement, and office HVAC systems.
What you'll do
- Review engineering drawings, submittals, and monitor construction progress in collaboration with design consultants. - Support commissioning activities, equipment preparation, operational testing, and resolve abnormalities during construction and start-up phases. - Provide operational and maintenance support for RCUs, MUAs, exhaust systems, acid scrubbers, and RCTO solvent abatement systems. - Address HVAC Out-of-Control Action Plan (OCAP) conditions in cleanroom environments, covering temperature, humidity, particle levels, and exhaust pressure. - Review tool exhaust design during the hook-up phase and perform engineering inspections. - Apply reliability engineering principles, including FMEA and root cause analysis, to improve system performance and energy consumption.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. - 5+ years of experience in HVAC engineering across design and operations. - Professional Engineering License (PE). - Strong understanding of HVAC systems, exhaust systems, controls, chilled water systems, cooling towers, and cleanroom standards. - Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, MS Office, and Bluebeam. - Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Nice to have
- HVAC engineering experience in semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing. - Experience in design, construction, commissioning, and start-up.
