This role directs an engineering group responsible for the design, development, and implementation of complex engineering programs in accordance with project budgets and release schedules.
What you'll do
- Direct an engineering organization responsible for the design, development, and execution of engineering programs within the division. - Anticipate technical requirements and implement new approaches to engineering design and development at the division and segment level. - Develop and execute long-range plans, establish product-specific engineering strategies, and review engineering specifications. - Partner with senior business group leadership to address high-value problems aligned with organizational objectives. - Lead technical interfaces with internal and external customers on engineering matters involving division products. - Establish performance metrics and report on engineering progress against division-specific goals.
What you'll need
- Broad understanding of complex engineering systems, design theories, and development practices. - Experience directing large-scale engineering programs through multiple tiers of engineering managers. - Background developing engineering and product strategies tied to commercial objectives and customer requirements. - Proven capability negotiating, presenting, and resolving complex technical and organizational challenges at executive levels. - Demonstrated track record managing project budgets and meeting engineering release schedules.
