About the role
Directs an engineering group responsible for the design, development, and implementation of complex engineering programs across the division in accordance with project budgets and release schedules.
What you'll do
- Direct an engineering group handling the design, development, and implementation of engineering programs aligned with budgets and release schedules. - Develop and implement long-range plans, create engineering or product-specific strategies, and review engineering specifications. - Ensure programs, strategies, and processes address high value problems (HVP) across the division and segment. - Lead interfaces with internal and external customers on engineering issues involving division products. - Provide approval guidelines and leadership to reporting engineering managers in long-term program, strategy, and process design. - Define performance metrics and report on engineering progress against division-specific goals.
What you'll need
- Experience leading a business unit, department, or sub-function through multiple levels of managers. - Broad and comprehensive understanding of different systems, theories, and practices in engineering and business environments. - Demonstrated background directing the design and release of complex engineering programs. - Track record of developing and executing sub-functional or departmental strategies to achieve business objectives. - Experience influencing and negotiating at top executive levels on complex business and technical issues.
