About the role
KLA is seeking a Software Engineer in Test Automation to design, build, and scale code-driven automation across UI automation, REST/API automation, and system-level automation for software and hardware-integrated semiconductor products.
What you'll do
- Develop and maintain automated UI test suites for Windows desktop applications and design reusable UI automation components.
- Create and maintain automated tests for REST interfaces and service integrations while extending API test coverage and pipeline signals.
- Own end-to-end automated validation for workflows where software interacts with hardware and instrumentation in complex bench and tool environments.
- Build systems utilizing relational and non-relational databases along with an in-house automated testing framework.
- Use algorithms, such as LLMs and business logic, to identify software failure root causes and report findings via Power BI and dashboards.
- Collaborate with engineering, algorithms, systems, hardware, applications, and manufacturing teams to plan and execute release test strategies.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of related experience, Master's degree with 3+ years, or a Doctorate with 0+ years.
- Proficiency in programming with C++, C#, Java, Python, or R.
- Experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, or similar.
- Strong data handling skills with SQL, NoSQL databases, and data preprocessing, including profiling and tuning databases like SQL Server, Redis, or MongoDB.
- Solid understanding of computer architecture, design patterns, UI frameworks, and API design.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of technologies like Kafka, Kubernetes, MySQL, Hadoop, BigQuery, and other open-source databases.
- Experience with Continuous Integration tools and processes such as Jenkins.
- Experience with REST API testing tools and automation frameworks like Postman or RestSharp.
