About the role
This role owns product-level yield, quality, and qualification for OpenLight's photonic integrated circuit (PIC) products toward high volume manufacturing (HVM). You will work closely with design, layout, fab process, test, reliability, and external foundry and back-end partners across PDK components and PIC products.
What you'll do
- Define HVM yield and qualification methodologies for PDK components and PIC products, from wafer test through final shipped product.
- Baseline and forecast product yield, and lead yield and quality improvement initiatives across the product portfolio.
- Own end-to-end yield of PIC products through HVM, partnering with platform/process, heterogeneous wafer bonding, and back-end teams to translate upstream process and material changes into product performance.
- Ensure PDK components and PIC products meet specifications over PVT and through qualification testing such as burn-in and HTOL.
- Analyze test data for lasers, modulators, optical amplifiers, and other components, optimizing PIC product specs and evaluating KGD data.
- Maintain and document workflows for data analysis, reporting, and traceability within the corporate data ecosystem.
What you'll need
- B.S. or M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Materials Science, Applied Physics, or related discipline with 3+ years of relevant professional experience.
- Background in statistical analysis, data mining, and simulation tools such as JMP and Python.
- Working knowledge of III-V or silicon photonic wafer process development and manufacturing, with depth in product-level test, qualification, and characterization.
- Knowledge of semiconductor device physics, photonic device and PIC design, test, qualification, and reliability.
- Hands-on experience with issue management and coordinating cross-functional teams.
Nice to have
- Experience with machine learning data/image analysis.
