About the role

This role supports the development of hardware diagnostics and resiliency models for Datacenter and Edge Computing products covering GPUs and SoCs.

What you'll do

  • Develop and maintain diagnostics software suites to stress test NVIDIA GPUs and SoCs to identify hardware defects, including defects that cause silent data corruption.
  • Analyze coverage gaps in diagnostic suites flagged by silicon failures on customer workloads, enhancing diagnostics for test coverage, repeatability, and test time.
  • Model and analyze RAS metrics including Failures in Time (FIT) for permanent and transient errors, and Availability from GPU to Rack to Datacenter.
  • Analyze field data on hardware interruptions and permanent failures to improve RAS models, fault attribution, containment, and recovery.
  • Design, build, and maintain automation scripts and tooling to manage diagnostic jobs across multiple compute clusters.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to categorize cluster failures into hardware faults, test-script bugs, or environment configuration issues.

What you'll need

  • Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or closely related degree, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of GPU Architecture and programming, and hardware diagnostics.
  • Understanding of Reliability (FIT) models, AVF estimation, Availability concepts, and ECC/parity/CRC strategies.
  • Proficiency in C/C++, CUDA programming, data mining, automation, and scripting with Python and SQL.
  • Working knowledge of hardware diagnostics and container-based job execution.
