About the role
This role involves architecting the security system and hardware infrastructure for data center System on Chips (SoCs), collaborating with platform architects to enable secure debug and manageability features while ensuring compliance with industry standards. Technical scope centers on confidential computing, foundational security, and hardware security architecture at advanced process nodes.
What you'll do
- Define SoC and system-level security architecture for confidential computing platforms, including trust boundaries, isolation domains, and security invariants.
- Architect platform root-of-trust strategy and chain-of-trust across boot, runtime, attestation, and update flows.
- Define security architecture for cryptographic services, key lifecycle management, identity, provisioning, and anti-rollback protections.
- Develop threat models and derive product security requirements mapped to architectural controls and validation strategy.
- Drive cross-functional security alignment across hardware, firmware, software, validation, and product teams.
- Produce architecture specifications, security analyses, and design guidance for internal and external stakeholders.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 6+ years of engineering experience (or Master's with 5+ years, or PhD with 4+ years).
- Experience in Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
- Understanding of hardware security architecture and SoC architecture for data center environments.
- Knowledge of HW/SW/System requirements for confidential computing, foundational security, debug, and manageability technologies.
Nice to have
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in hardware/SoC design for data center environments and 2 years of experience architecting security technologies for data center products.
- Experience architecting foundational SoC security capabilities such as secure boot, attestation, hardware/firmware provenance, isolation and access control, and key management.
- Proven threat modeling and security requirements development skills.
- Experience with security architecture for heterogeneous multi-chiplet or large-scale SoC platforms.
- Experience engaging with standards bodies and applying industry security frameworks to hyperscale or cloud-class product architecture.
