About the role
The Senior Test Infrastructure & Reliability Engineer will own the data pipeline and reliability of systems carrying test results from a fleet of electro-optical test stations into the central data platform.
What you'll do
- Own the data pipeline connecting test stations to the central data platform, covering measurement uploaders, run creation, and run-to-test-request linking.
- Build fleet-wide observability, including dashboards, log pipelines, and metrics for station and data-pipeline health.
- Define and maintain alerting and guardrails to detect upload latency, stale heartbeats, and clock drift before data loss occurs.
- Harden shared infrastructure, including uploader processes, heartbeat reporting, and notification integrations, against distributed-systems failure modes.
- Investigate and root-cause fleet-wide reliability incidents using logs, timestamps, and API data across station-side, server-side, and network/clock sources.
- Partner with data platform teams and test software engineers to bridge gaps between station software and the central system of record.
What you'll need
- BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with 5+ years of relevant experience (MS with 3+ years, or PhD with 0-2 years).
- Experience building and operating reliable distributed systems or data pipelines.
- Strong Python skills, with experience in async and multi-process/service architectures.
- Experience with observability stacks such as Grafana and Loki, alongside designing alerts.
- SQL proficiency for ad hoc investigation against production data.
- Experience in lab, manufacturing, or hardware test environments, along with on-call or incident-response experience.
