About the role
This role involves the design, development, validation, and manufacturing of high-power power electronic products for industrial applications, with expertise in MW-scale DC-AC and DC-DC power conversion systems.
What you'll do
- Design and develop high-power power electronic products for industrial applications.
- Utilize simulation and design tools including PLECS, MATLAB/Simulink, SPICE, ANSYS, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, schematic capture, and PCB design software.
- Perform thermal modelling, thermal performance evaluation, and cooling system design.
- Design and integrate customized subassemblies and collaborate with suppliers for components like busbars, heatsinks, and PCB assemblies (PCBAs).
- Conduct design verification, testing, performance validation, qualification, and reliability assessments.
- Manage the complete product development lifecycle from concept design and simulation through prototyping, testing, validation, and industrialisation.
What you'll need
- 10-12 years of experience in the design, development, validation, and manufacturing of high-power power electronic products.
- Extensive experience in MW-scale industrial power conversion systems, including solar inverters and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
- Strong knowledge of power electronic components and subsystems, including IGBTs, SiC devices, DC-link capacitors, sensors, and gate driver circuits.
- Proficiency in industry-standard simulation and design tools.
- Hands-on experience in thermal modelling, thermal performance evaluation, and cooling system design.
- Proven expertise in the design and integration of customised subassemblies and collaboration with suppliers.
- Demonstrated ability to manage the complete product development lifecycle.
