About the role
This position is responsible for technical aspects of the foundry interface with external SOS, Off the Shelf, and SOI foundry partners, leading projects related to sustaining fab processes.
What you'll do
- Maintain and sustain custom and off-the-shelf technologies at foundry partners, serving as technical owner for DRC governance, manufacturability inquiries, and issue triage across design, CAD, and manufacturing stakeholders. - Lead yield and quality excursions at the foundry (containment, root cause, corrective, and preventive action) in partnership with Product Engineering and Customer Quality. - Own the technical change-control workflow with foundry partners, including process changes, PCNs, mask and reticle changes, wafer-fab flows, qualification strategy, and risk assessment. - Translate process and device learnings into design rules, signoff guidance, and reliability and yield guardbands. - Review tapeout floorplan and frame structures to ensure foundry-related test, assembly, and customer requirements are met, driving fundamental changes to frame and reticle tapeout procedures. - Lead end-to-end foundry transfer programs, ensuring continuity of yield, reliability, and cycle time.
What you'll need
- 10+ years of experience including semiconductor manufacturing, process development, or foundry technical interface (or MS with 7-10 years, Ph.D. with 5-7 years). - Experience working with deep sub-micron fab processes and wafer fab organizations based in Asia. - Demonstrated leadership of cross-functional foundry programs covering yield, excursion response, cycle time, reliability, or cost. - Experience driving foundry change control, PCNs, and qualification decisions using structured risk and data analysis. - Hands-on understanding of tapeout readiness, including DRC and DFM methodology, mask and reticle considerations, and manufacturing constraints. - Ability to travel up to 25% (Singapore and Japan).
