Senior Staff Applications Engineer
$150,000 - $180,000 USD yearly
Focus on integrated pin electronics and low-power ICs for Automated Test Equipment (ATE).
About the role
This role leads customer and system-level investigations between customers and internal Design, Product, and Quality engineering teams. Elevate Semiconductor designs low-power, high-density ICs for Automated Test Equipment (ATE), including integrated pin electronics.
What you'll do
- Lead complex customer and system-level investigations by reproducing issues in the lab, driving root cause with Design, Product, and Quality Engineering, and closing the loop with the customer.
- Generate technical documentation for Elevate products, including datasheets, product guides, application notes, and integration materials.
- Interface with internal engineering teams to support new products from initial concept through production release.
- Perform bench testing and analysis to reproduce customer observations, resolve troubleshooting issues, and provide technical guidance.
- Coordinate with sales through the entire sales process by assisting with product recommendations and on-site customer visits.
- Support failure, quality, and reliability analysis in conjunction with the operations team, and analyze competitive landscapes.
What you'll need
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of professional experience in applications, test, product, or systems engineering on semiconductor products.
- Extensive bench equipment experience with scopes, SMUs, supplies, AWGs, probing techniques, and setup troubleshooting.
- Strong analog and mixed-signal circuit understanding, down to transistor-level behavior during debug.
- A track record of leading ambiguous, multi-variable engineering investigations to defensible conclusions.
Nice to have
- Experience in semiconductor test, ATE, measurement equipment, or high-performance instrumentation.
- Experience in analog, mixed-signal design, or transistor-level debug.
- Experience across the silicon lifecycle, including validation, characterization, design verification, quality, and mass production ramp.
- Exposure to PCB design review and bring-up using tools such as Altium or Allegro.
- Familiarity with SPICE simulation tools such as LTspice or PSpice.
- Experience using programming languages or tools for test automation and data analysis such as Python, C, JMP, or Excel.
