About the role
Participate in new fiberoptic product development activities, make prototypes, and develop processes for mass production in Sunnyvale, CA.
What you'll do
- Source, evaluate, and select optical components based on product performance, quality, and cost requirements. - Build and assemble prototypes according to optical design specifications and engineering requirements. - Characterize, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic devices to identify and resolve performance issues. - Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to support consistent manufacturing and testing processes. - Participate in product qualification and reliability testing activities to ensure compliance with performance standards. - Support new product introduction (NPI) activities, transferring products to manufacturing and providing ongoing production support.
What you'll need
- BS or MS in engineering or related technical fields. - 7 to 15 years of related experience. - Understanding of optical components, free-space optics, fiber optic devices, and fiber collimator coupling technologies. - Experience generating build documentation, test reports, and technical summaries. - Ability to work in a Class 10000 clean-room environment wearing smock, mask, and gloves, and move equipment under 25 lbs.
Nice to have
- Fiber optic experience. - Familiarity with UV epoxies. - Experience with fiber optical module packaging.
