About the role
KLA is seeking a Senior Mechatronics Engineer (Motion Control) to optimize the performance of a multi-axis precision stage for reticle inspection tools. The role applies control theory, system dynamics, and data analytics to nanometer-level precision motion stages.
What you'll do
- Perform controller tuning, performance characterization, and troubleshooting for a nanometer-level precision motion stage. - Define requirements for stage testing and drive the development of data processing tools in Python. - Characterize dynamic performance at the inspection station level, using testing and analysis to evaluate observed behavior and implement improvements. - Work with a cross-functional team to bring prototype systems online and participate in testing complex calibrations and algorithms. - Follow initial systems through Alpha test, delivery, and Beta test at customer sites.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of related work experience, Master's degree with 3+ years of related work experience, or a Doctorate degree. - Demonstrated experience in precision motion control, control theory, and system dynamics. - Experience with troubleshooting and performance characterization of multi-axis motion stages.
Nice to have
- MS or PhD in a related engineering discipline with 5+ years of experience in precision motion control. - Hands-on experience integrating, testing, and optimizing the performance of complex mechanisms. - Experience with semiconductor equipment and working in cleanrooms. - Experience using Matlab/Simulink for controller development. - Experience using Python for data analytics.
