About the role
This role is responsible for the design, installation, commissioning, and operation of fire protection systems for Amkor's OSAT factory. Scope spans fire suppression systems, fire alarms, sprinkler systems, clean agent systems, and integration with life safety systems in compliance with NFPA codes and local regulations.
What you'll do
- Collaborate with fire protection design consultants to ensure system requirements and specifications are met. - Review fire protection drawings, submittals, and monitor construction progress, identifying and resolving abnormalities during construction and start-up phases. - Support commissioning activities, including functional testing, system validation, and system handover documentation. - Provide operational and maintenance support, capacity planning, and troubleshooting for fire suppression systems, alarms, and emergency response systems. - Partner with operations and maintenance teams to optimize fire protection system performance and implement improvements via capital and expense projects. - Support fire safety audits, inspections, emergency drills, and provide on-call support in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. - 3+ years of experience in fire protection system design and operations, with experience in semiconductor facility design, construction, commissioning, and start-up. - Strong understanding of NFPA codes, fire suppression systems, sprinkler systems, and life safety standards. - Familiarity with fire alarm systems and alarm integration, with the ability to read and interpret fire protection drawings and specifications. - Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and Bluebeam. - Knowledge of ISO standards and emergency response planning.
Nice to have
- Professional Engineering License (PE) or NICET Fire Protection Certification. - Experience in semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing.
