About the role
This position is responsible for the support and routine maintenance of Aixtron G4 MOCVD reactors running InP and GaAs processes, along with all associated support systems. You will support the MOCVD equipment engineer, troubleshoot subsystem faults, and train other equipment technicians on routine maintenance tasks.
What you'll do
- Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on Aixtron G4 MOCVD reactors, chemical sources, vacuum systems, robotic wafer handlers, chambers, and exhaust abatement systems. - Log and track machine parameters to detect incipient equipment failures or deviations from normal operation. - Participate in maintenance procedures requiring supplied air respirators (such as SCBA and supplied air-line breathing apparatus), including gas cylinder changes, abatement column changes, and process piping work. - Collaborate with facilities and Epi process engineering teams to plan scheduled maintenance, resolve issues to minimize downtime, and develop procedures for unexpected failure modes. - Train and certify on documented procedures covering routine maintenance, spare parts inventory, and equipment support functions, while participating in the site Emergency Response Team.
What you'll need
- AA degree with 6–10 years of experience. - At least 2 years of hands-on experience with maintenance and repair of complex automated semiconductor process equipment. - At least 2 years of hands-on experience with vacuum equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. - SCBA certification and experience carrying out maintenance procedures while under supplied air. - Certified or able to obtain Hazmat Technician certification. - Ability to pass a yearly physical and SCBA respirator mask fit test, safely maneuver heavy equipment, and work in cramped conditions wearing PPE.
