About the role
Based in Phoenix, the Senior QA Engineer tests and qualifies software that directly controls semiconductor processing equipment hardware, including robotics, gas valves, and temperature controllers.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, document, and improve software test suites.
- Perform manual and automated testing of software in simulation and on physical semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
- Automate, streamline, and maintain QA processes to integrate with CI/CD development workflows.
- Create and manage test plans and test cases to validate software enhancements and defect fixes.
- Execute and analyze engineering designs against intended outcomes to provide feedback on quality, effectiveness, and performance.
- Collaborate with Process Engineering to test system operations across mechanical, electrical, and software functionality.
What you'll need
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in software development, software testing, or test automation.
- Hands-on experience in System Quality Assurance or System Quality Engineering for complex electromechanical equipment with integrated software controls.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language, test case management tool, or issue tracking software.
- Ability to travel up to 10-25% of the time.
Nice to have
- Proficiency in Python, C++, or C#.
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, Git, TestComplete, or TestRail.
- Experience with semiconductor equipment.
- Experience configuring software applications, managing software versioning, or providing configuration management in a software development environment.
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline creation, execution, and maintenance.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools, large language models (LLMs), and modern software engineering practices leveraging generative AI.
