About the role
This role involves researching, developing, and optimizing epitaxy processes for semiconductor devices, specifically focusing on the deposition of Si and SiGe based materials. You will contribute to groundbreaking innovations in epitaxy within the Corporate Research & Development Team.
What you'll do
- Research, develop, and optimize processes for the deposition of Si and SiGe based materials via Epitaxy using semiconductor processing equipment.
- Conduct experiments, perform measurements, and derive conclusions from complex experimental data sets.
- Work hands-on with semiconductor process equipment to optimize processes alongside hardware for maximum efficiency.
- Communicate with other ASM and customer R&D teams to define requirements and execute projects.
- Ensure successful product transfers to customers through demonstrations and knowledge transfer.
What you'll need
- PhD degree in physics, chemistry, chemical engineering, or materials science, with a thesis related to the semiconductor or adjacent industries.
- Prior experience with epitaxy techniques (e.g., RPCVD, MOCVD, MBE).
- Prior experience with characterization methods (e.g., AFM, XRD, TEM, SIMS, electrical characterization, ellipsometry).
- Demonstrated understanding of semiconductor physics.
- Demonstrated understanding of processing equipment technology.
- Demonstrated understanding of advanced chemistries.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of group IV epitaxy (e.g., Si, Ge, SiGe).
