About the role
Lattice Semiconductor is seeking a Senior Applications Engineer – FPGA Tools to support the complete FPGA development tool flow from design entry to place-and-route and timing closure.
What you'll do
- Enable FPGA software tool adoption through tool capability analysis, user requirements gathering, documentation, best practices, and training sessions.
- Provide ITAR-compliant support, ensuring strict adherence to export control regulations and internal procedures for the Aerospace and Defense market segment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to FPGA development tools and operating environments.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize tool integration and workflows.
- Apply scripting, programming, and AI tools and frameworks for workflow automation.
- Act as a subject matter expert for FPGA design flows, assisting internal teams and customers.
What you'll need
- Must be a U.S. person for Aerospace and Defense market segment support.
- BSEE or similar degree.
- 5+ years of FPGA design tool experience (e.g., Radiant, Diamond, Quartus, Vivado).
- Strong understanding and experience in Verilog, VHDL, or SystemVerilog.
- Strong understanding and experience in logic synthesis tools such as Synplify Pro.
- Strong understanding and experience in FPGA implementation flows, including place-and-route, static timing analysis, and timing closure.
- Solid experience working with Linux environments, including managing and troubleshooting OS-level issues.
Nice to have
- Experience with EDA software simulation tools for FPGA development, including ModelSim/QuestaSim, VCS, and/or Xcelium.
- Good understanding of FPGA architecture and applications.
- Hands-on FPGA development experience, including verification.
- Experience with scripting languages such as TCL, Perl, or Python.
- Experience with Lattice FPGA design software tools.
