About the role
As a Software Application Engineer, you will provide technical expertise on software systems through technical presentations, product demonstrations, customer-specific requirement development, product commercialization, and product maintenance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers to resolve questions, debugging, and troubleshooting across software systems and applications.
What you'll do
- Deliver technical presentations, customer training, and product demonstrations in support of business development, commercialization, customization, and maintenance of products.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and customer personnel to identify problems, debug complex issues in customer design software systems, and recommend solutions.
- Drive system architecture and feature-specific customizations tailored to customer requirements from proof of concept through final commercial product launches.
- Assess potential applications of products, prepare product specifications, and troubleshoot issues involving software tools and products.
- Author technical documentation, application notes, and FAQs.
- Provide supervision and technical guidance to team members.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field with 4+ years of software applications engineering or software development experience (or Master's degree with 3+ years, or PhD with 2+ years).
- 2+ years of experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
- 1+ year of experience with debugging techniques.
Nice to have
- Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
- 6 years of software applications engineering or software development experience.
- Experience in a customer-facing role.
- 1 year of work experience in a role requiring interaction with leadership.
