About the role
This internship focuses on enhancing the security of systems and products powering mobile, IoT, and connectivity devices.
What you'll do
- Collaborate with engineers to enhance system and product security.
- Gain hands-on experience protecting real-world devices and systems from attacks.
- Work cross-functionally with engineers and stakeholders to secure complex infrastructure and applications.
What you'll need
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D. program in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), Computer Science (CS), Security, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Available for 11–14 weeks during Summer 2027 (May–September).
- Expected graduation date of November 2027 or later.
Nice to have
- Actively pursuing a degree with an anticipated graduation between November 2027 to June 2028.
- Experience in threat modeling, security risk assessment, fuzzing, program analysis, exploit countermeasures, cryptographic assessment, cellular and wireless security, or incident response.
- Skills in program analysis (source and binary), supply chain security, vulnerability research, exploit mitigations, secure execution environments, or hardware security.
- 1 year of academic experience in computer systems security or embedded device security.
- Strong technical problem-solving and programming skills.
- Studying toward an MS or Ph.D. in a related field.
- Experience in secure OS features, hypervisors, secure boot, key management, automotive safety/security, or programmatic security improvements.
- Knowledge of systems security, operating systems, hypervisors, or trusted execution environments.
- Strong programming skills and interest in securing mobile devices and programming languages.
- 1 year of academic experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
- Studying toward a BS or MS in ECE, CS, Math, or related field.
- Experience in OT security, application security, security architecture, GRC, threat hunting, incident response, automation, or risk management.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, statistics, ML/AI, security frameworks, endpoint security, cryptography, forensics, phishing, or malware analysis.
- Experience with Windows & Linux (any distribution).
- Programming experience in Java, C, C++, C#, Go, Python, PowerShell, Bash, or Perl.
- Studying toward a BS in CS, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field.
