About the role
This Science & Engineering Co-op role focuses on improving operational efficiency and process understanding within manufacturing, with an emphasis on applying statistical methods to achieve higher yields.
What you'll do
- Develop, lead, and implement projects using CAD Software to improve operational efficiency and deliver savings.
- Improve the maturity of process data and apply statistical methods to develop a deeper understanding of processes to achieve higher yields and efficiency.
- Support the development of lean manufacturing processes, continuous improvement, standard work, and problem solving.
- Apply manufacturing best practices to drive safety, quality, reliability, and predictability.
- Work with teams to identify problems, analyze information, and develop and implement process solutions.
- Assist in directing and controlling processes in accordance with defined policies and procedures.
What you'll need
- Ability to do CAD designs using software such as SolidWorks or CATIA.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or chemical engineering or related discipline.
- Currently enrolled as a student.
- Available to work 40 hours a week, M-F (8a-5p) beginning in January through June.
- Familiar with university requirements to participate in a co-op program.
- Ability to work in an environment with exposure to metal powders, isopropyl alcohol, and Di water.
