Robotics Systems Engineer I, Robotics Delivery and Packaging Innovation (RDPI) - Tech Deployment
About the role
As a Systems Engineer in Robotics Delivery and Packaging Innovation (RDPI), you will oversee project planning, installation, and launch of industrial automation technologies across Amazon fulfillment centers. This is a field engineering role requiring technical deployment oversight for mechanical, electrical, and network systems, with travel upwards of 75% or more across North America.
What you'll do
- Support and guide on-site and remote installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of robotics, packaging, and sortation technologies.
- Manage technical ambiguity around integration of work cells in fulfillment centers and resolve complex technical problems during deployment.
- Own tactical execution, on-site coordination of installation, and acceptance testing to achieve target go-live dates.
- Collaborate with hardware engineering, technical program managers, product managers, and internal operations customer teams to convert technical requirements into refined deployment execution documents.
- Manage day-to-day project scheduling and budget management while tracking operational metrics.
- Generate and implement continuous improvement ideas around work-scopes, standard operating procedures, and operational guidebooks.
What you'll need
- Experience with complex electro-mechanical, electrical, mechanical, and network systems.
- Experience in installation, maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting of industrial automation technologies.
- Willingness and ability to travel upwards of 75% or more across North America to both live warehouses and new construction sites.
- Physical ability to lift and move totes up to 49 pounds, stand and walk for up to 10-12 hours, and safely navigate ladders, stairs, and gangways.
