What you'll do
- Review and log returned server components and systems while maintaining RMA records and audit documentation for compliance. - Diagnose hardware failures down to the component level and perform root cause analysis to support corrective actions. - Execute test plans for replacement parts and repaired units. - Validate server SKUs and configurations for hyperscaler environments (AWS, Azure, GCP). - Track reasons for returns and generate reports for trend analysis. - Coordinate repair, upgrade, and return-to-service processes, and conduct cycle counts of RMA units.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or a related field with 2+ years of hardware engineering or related work experience (or Master's degree with 1+ year, or PhD). - Experience diagnosing hardware failures down to the component level and performing root cause analysis. - Experience executing test plans for replacement hardware and repaired units.

How we counted: 420 open Post-Silicon Validation (Silicon Validation) roles from 62 employers tracked in the SemiconductorJobs index, counted 21 Oct 2026. Specialty figures count only roles carrying this exact specialty label, so an employer's related work in neighbouring specialties is not included there — it is counted in the wider Silicon Validation & Test family row.
