About the role

As an RFIC System Engineer on the Wireless SoC Radio Team, you will research, design, and deliver CMOS radios from RF-to-bits for high-volume production in advanced CMOS technology nodes.

What you'll do

  • Architect, design, and model integrated RF, analog, and mixed-signal circuits for wireless SoCs.
  • Research and develop wireless radio architectures across integrated components including PAs, LNAs, mixers, PLLs, and data converters.
  • Perform system-level modeling and analysis to bring radio designs into high-volume production.
  • Collaborate across vertically integrated teams spanning RF/Analog design, PHY/MAC architecture, VLSI/RTL, and test/validation.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • RF/analog and mixed-signal design experience in RF CMOS design.
  • Experience with MATLAB, Python, SystemVue, or other system-level modeling tools.

Nice to have

  • Experience modeling RF/Analog circuits using MATLAB, Verilog-A, or Python and writing block-level specifications based on modeling.
  • Direct tape-out experience with one or more blocks: RF front-end circuits, PA, LNA, mixer, oscillator, PLL, LO, VGA, filter, ADC/DAC, TIA, or other baseband analog blocks in deep sub-micron CMOS technology.
  • Understanding of RF transceiver architectures and their trade-offs.
  • Understanding of analog design concepts including analysis of noise, linearity, mismatch, stability, and analog impairments.
  • Understanding of CMOS device physics, RF device modeling, device noise parameters, inductor modeling, and circuit layout for RF performance.
  • Familiarity with Bluetooth, WiFi, and Ultra-Wideband standards.
  • Experience in silicon characterization and debug.
