This internship focuses on silicon RFIC solutions for mobile applications.
About the role
This role involves developing high-performance silicon RFIC solutions for mobile applications and working with experienced engineers in a collaborative environment. The work focuses on transistor-level circuit design, simulation, layout, and laboratory evaluation of high-performance RF front-end circuits.
What you'll do
- Work with a mentor and design team to combine silicon RFIC design with RF and microwave electromagnetic simulation for RF front-end components.
- Participate in product development activities, including product definition, architecture, and system analysis.
- Perform transistor-level circuit design, layout or layout supervision, and top-level simulation.
- Conduct laboratory debugging and provide production test support.
What you'll need
- Currently enrolled in an Electrical Engineering (or related) BS or MS program.
- Familiarity with transistor-level design concepts for silicon RFIC and analog circuits.
- Understanding of RF active-circuit requirements and design concepts, including noise, linearity, bandwidth, and small-signal and large-signal behavior.
- Understanding of microwave and RF fundamentals, including S-parameters, Smith charts, matching networks, noise figure, and transmission lines.
- Experience using time-domain and frequency-domain circuit and electromagnetic simulation tools, such as Cadence Spectre and EMX, Keysight ADS and Momentum, or Ansys HFSS.
Nice to have
- Experience with on-chip passive circuit design.
- Experience with chip tapeout.
- Experience with RF test equipment, including network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, DC power supplies, and RF probes.

How we counted: 266 open RF/Wireless Engineering (RF Frontend) roles from 36 employers tracked in the SemiconductorJobs index, counted 8 Nov 2026. Specialty figures count only roles carrying this exact specialty label, so an employer's related work in neighbouring specialties is not included there — it is counted in the wider Analog & Mixed-Signal family row.
