About the role
This internship involves developing high-performance silicon RFIC solutions for mobile applications. It offers hands-on experience in silicon RFIC design from concept through production, focusing on RF front-end integrated circuits.
What you'll do
- Work with a mentor and design team on silicon RFIC design combined with RF and microwave electromagnetic simulation for RF front-end components.
- Participate in product development, including product definition and system analysis.
- Perform transistor-level circuit design, layout or layout supervision, and top-level simulation.
- Conduct laboratory debugging and provide production test support.
What you'll need
- Currently enrolled in an Electrical Engineering (or related) BS or MS program.
- Familiarity with transistor-level design concepts for silicon RFIC and analog circuits.
- Understanding of RF active-circuit requirements and design concepts, including noise, linearity, bandwidth, small-signal and large-signal behavior.
- Understanding of microwave and RF fundamentals, including S-parameters, Smith charts, matching networks, noise figure, and transmission lines.
- Experience using time-domain and frequency-domain circuit and electromagnetic simulation tools, such as Cadence Spectre and EMX, Keysight ADS and Momentum, or Ansys HFSS.
Nice to have
- Experience with on-chip passive circuit design.
- Chip tapeout experience.
- Experience with RF test equipment, including network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, DC power supplies, and RF probes.
