About the role

As an RFIC Design Engineer at Apple, you will be responsible for providing RFIC solutions for wireless SoC and driving them to mass production for wireless connectivity products. You will design, develop, and validate radio transceivers integrated into wireless SoCs.

What you'll do

- Architect, develop, and validate radio transceivers integrated into wireless SoCs. - Provide RFIC solutions for wireless SoCs and drive designs to mass production. - Work across functional teams spanning RF/analog architecture, Systems/PHY/MAC, VLSI/RTL design, emulation, design verification, test, validation, and firmware/software engineering. - Collaborate with product development groups to deliver wireless connectivity solutions.

What you'll need

- BS degree and 10+ years of relevant industry experience. - Deep understanding of analog design concepts including analysis of noise, linearity, mismatch, stability, and other analog impairments. - Direct experience in designing and bringing wireless transceivers into mass production in deep sub-micron RFCMOS technology. - Deep understanding of analog, mixed-signal, and RF circuit design, including LNAs, PAs, PLL/VCO/DCO/LOGEN blocks, mixers, baseband filters and amplifiers, data converters, and associated calibration methods. - Hands-on experience with Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre RF, Matlab, and EM simulation tools such as EMX and HFSS.

Nice to have

- MSEE or PhD with relevant industry experience. - 10+ years of RF/analog and mixed-signal design experience in RF CMOS design. - Familiarity with various RF transceiver architectures, trade-offs, system specifications, and translating system requirements into IC-level circuit requirements with an understanding of modulation type impacts. - Proven experience collaborating with digital design teams for domain partitioning between digital and analog. - Familiarity with integration flows and challenges of wireless SoCs. - Extensive experience in silicon characterization and debug. - Ability to drive production test and QA methodologies.
