About the role

As an RFIC Design Engineer, you will be responsible for providing RFIC solutions for wireless SoC and driving them to mass production for Apple’s wireless connectivity products. The wireless RFIC team architects, develops, and validates radio transceivers integrated into wireless SoCs.

What you'll do

- Architect, develop, and validate radio transceivers integrated into wireless SoCs. - Deliver RFIC solutions and drive designs through to mass production for wireless connectivity products. - Collaborate across engineering teams spanning RF/analog architecture, Systems/PHY/MAC, VLSI/RTL design, emulation, verification, test, and FW/SW. - Design RF, analog, and mixed-signal blocks including LNAs, PAs, PLL/VCO/DCO/LOGEN blocks, mixers, baseband filters, amplifiers, and data converters. - Implement calibration methods associated with wireless transceiver systems.

What you'll need

- BS degree with 10+ years of relevant industry experience. - Direct experience in designing and bringing wireless transceivers into mass production in deep sub-micron RFCMOS technology. - Deep understanding of analog design concepts such as noise, linearity, mismatch, stability, and other analog impairments. - Deep understanding of analog, mixed-signal, and RF circuit design, including LNAs, PAs, PLL/VCO/DCO/LOGEN blocks, mixers, baseband filters, amplifiers, data converters, and calibration methods. - Hands-on experience with Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre RF, Matlab, and EM simulation tools (EMX, HFSS).

Nice to have

- MSEE or PhD with relevant industry experience. - 10+ years of RF/analog and mixed-signal design experience in RF CMOS design. - Familiarity with RF transceiver architectures, trade-offs, system specifications, and translating system requirements into IC-level circuit requirements. - Proven capability working with digital design groups for optimum partitioning between digital and analog domains. - Familiarity with integration flows and challenges of wireless SoCs. - Extensive experience in silicon characterization and debug, alongside production test/QA methodologies.
