About the role
As an RFIC Design Engineer, you are responsible for providing RFIC solutions for wireless SoCs and driving them to mass production for wireless connectivity products. The wireless RFIC team architects, develops, and validates radio transceivers integrated into wireless SoCs.
What you'll do
- Architect, develop, and validate radio transceivers integrated into wireless SoCs. - Provide RFIC solutions and take transceiver designs from concept through mass production. - Work across functional domains spanning RF/analog architecture, Systems/PHY/MAC, VLSI/RTL design, and firmware/software teams. - Drive circuit requirements down to the IC level from broader wireless connectivity system specifications.
What you'll need
- BS and 10+ years of relevant industry experience. - Deep understanding of analog design concepts including analysis of noise, linearity, mismatch, stability, and other analog impairments. - Experience with Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre RF, Matlab, and EM simulation tools such as EMX and HFSS. - Direct experience in designing and bringing wireless transceivers into mass production in deep sub-micron RFCMOS technology. - Deep understanding of analog, mixed-signal, and RF circuit design, including LNAs, PAs, PLL/VCO/DCO/LOGEN blocks, mixers, baseband filters, amplifiers, data converters, and associated calibration methods.
Nice to have
- MSEE or PhD with relevant industry experience. - 10+ years of RF/analog and mixed-signal design experience in RF CMOS. - Familiarity with RF transceiver architectures and their trade-offs, system specifications, and translating system requirements into IC-level circuit requirements. - Experience working with digital design groups on partitioning between digital and analog domains. - Familiarity with the integration flows and challenges of wireless SoCs. - Extensive experience in silicon characterization and debug, alongside production test and QA methodologies.
