RFHW Systems Engineer - Connectivity/NFC
About the role
The RFHW Systems Engineer - Connectivity/NFC designs, builds, validates, and optimizes Connectivity (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, UWB) and NFC RF hardware systems across R&D departments and manufacturing sites from prototype build to mass production.
What you'll do
- Act as the local technical expert at manufacturing sites in China and towards regional module suppliers for Connectivity and NFC RF hardware systems.
- Collaborate with engineering groups including Antenna Design, System EE, Production Test, Reliability, Thermal, and FW/SW to ensure integration of wireless systems.
- Design, validate, and optimize RF matching, passive and active components, and RF system integration.
- Develop agentic workflows and tools to automate, streamline, and transform traditional RF engineering tasks and validation processes.
- Conduct root-cause isolation and troubleshooting using test equipment and data analysis tools from early prototype through mass production.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Wireless Communication, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with 5+ years (for Bachelor's) or 2+ years (for Master's) of relevant industry experience.
- Strong RF fundamentals, including RF matching, passive/active component design, and RF system integration.
- Hands-on experience with RF test equipment, including radio communication testers, VNAs, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and oscilloscopes for lab testing and characterization.
- Demonstrated ability to develop tools and agentic workflows to automate design and validation processes.
- Troubleshooting capabilities utilizing tools to conduct commonality studies, analyze large test logs, and synthesize historical FA learnings for root-cause resolution.
Nice to have
- Fluency in wireless communication standards and wireless transceivers.
- Hands-on design, integration, or validation experience spanning Connectivity (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, UWB) and NFC technologies.
- Experience supporting high-volume consumer electronics manufacturing environments.
- In-depth understanding of antenna theory and design, magnetic induction loops, desense/EMC/EMI mechanisms, and practical mitigation techniques.
- Knowledge of thermal analysis, power management architectures (buck, LDO), and battery/charging interactions with NFC and RF subsystems.
