Work on hardware-based designs for new Keysight programmable power supplies.

About the role

This role involves hardware design for power electronics, focusing on developing new Keysight programmable power supplies. You will contribute to products ranging from multi-kilowatt switching supplies and AC sources to 30kW regenerative power solutions and AC grid emulators up to 1MW.

What you'll do

  • Develop hardware-based designs for new programmable power supplies.
  • Provide technical leadership on power-electronics subsystems.
  • Mentor new college graduates as needed.
  • Leverage existing solutions and develop from-scratch design concepts.
  • Generate cost-effective, dense designs that meet safety, EMC, and quality metrics.

What you'll need

  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering.
  • Ability to work daily on-site in Budd Lake, NJ.
  • Direct design experience with power electronics and switching converter designs from 500W to 50kW, particularly for power supplies and regenerative grid technologies.
  • Direct experience with board layout as it relates to switching converter designs.
  • Strong analog design skills, including experience in both time and frequency domain measurements.
  • Strong skill set in continuous and discrete signals and systems.
  • Experience with both analog and digital control theory and design methods.
  • Ability to model systems in Matlab and circuit simulator tools such as Saber, SPICE, or PLECS.

Nice to have

  • 8+ years of experience in hardware design, particularly involving power supplies and electronic measurement devices.
  • Experience with digital signal processing (DSP), ideally with HDL skills.
  • Experience coding, simulating, testing, and debugging HDL designs.
  • Strong Python programming skills.
