About the role
This role involves leading and overseeing production planning activities for new product development and established commercial production, ensuring alignment with customer requirements, material availability, and manufacturing capacity.
What you'll do
- Lead and develop the Development and Commercial Planning teams, driving consistent planning processes and execution.
- Oversee production planning for development programs and commercial manufacturing, ensuring alignment with customer requirements, program priorities, material availability, and manufacturing capacity.
- Establish priorities and provide planning direction for work orders, production schedules, material readiness, and customer commitments.
- Partner with Program Management, Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, Procurement, and Business Units to develop and execute production strategies.
- Monitor production performance, WIP, material availability, and schedule adherence, identifying constraints and mitigating risk.
- Oversee planning activities associated with Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and partner with Procurement and Supply Chain teams to manage component availability.
What you'll need
- U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in production planning, supply chain, or manufacturing operations, with prior leadership or team management experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of production planning, supply chain principles, MRP, capacity planning, inventory management, and manufacturing processes.
- SAP or comparable ERP/MRP system experience.
- Demonstrated ability to understand complex bills of material (BOMs) and translate MRP requirements into actionable production and material plans.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
