Product Manager - CPO External Lightsources (ELS)

Manage product strategy and manufacturing readiness for SuperNova external laser sources powering optical I/O engines.

About the role

As the Product Line Manager for External Laser Sources, you own the commercial and technical success of the laser modules that enable Ayar Labs' optical I/O engines. The focus centers on product strategy, roadmap, and high-volume manufacturing readiness for SuperNova laser sources.

What you'll do

• Own the product line strategy and roadmap for SuperNova laser sources, authoring comprehensive PRDs to direct engineering and manufacturing execution.
• Conduct competitive benchmarking across laser source technologies and suppliers to guide supplier selection strategy with Engineering and Operations.
• Author technical marketing collateral including white papers, datasheets, and application notes, collaborating with ecosystem partners and MSA groups on interoperability.
• Guide lightsource products through the internal Product Life Cycle (PLC) gate process alongside Engineering, Quality, and Operations to reach high-volume manufacturing readiness.
• Serve as the primary technical interface for Tier 1 Cloud Service Providers (CSPs), xPU architects, and networking OEMs regarding laser reliability and deployment.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of experience in Product Management or Technical Marketing within the semiconductor or optical communications industry.
• Expertise with laser technologies as well as the design, manufacturing, and go-to-market execution for pluggable optical modules.
• Direct experience with ELSFP, CMIS, or similar standards.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Optics.
• Project management and technical communication skills to execute with minimal direction.

Nice to have

• MBA degree.
• Experience with silicon photonics and the requirements of hyperscale datacenter GPU and switch customers.
