About the role
Skyworks is seeking a Process Technician to set up, program, and operate surface mount technology (SMT) equipment in Richardson, TX.
What you'll do
- Set up, program, and operate SMT equipment, including screen printers, solder paste inspection (SPI), pick and place machines, reflow ovens, and automated optical inspection (AOI).
- Verify and optimize machine setups for volume production and new product introduction (NPI) builds.
- Monitor yield, SPC trends, and in-process quality (FPV/IPI), troubleshooting process and equipment issues via root cause analysis.
- Maintain and calibrate SMT equipment while supporting preventive maintenance routines.
- Develop reflow profiles, maintain process parameters, and inspect solder joints and assembly quality against IPC compliance standards.
- Collect process data, update documentation and work instructions, and collaborate with engineering on product dispositions and process changes.
What you'll need
- High School Diploma or GED; Associate degree (or equivalent experience) in Electronics, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of SMT or electronics manufacturing experience.
- Hands-on experience with SMT equipment, including printer, PnP, reflow, and AOI systems.
- Knowledge of core SMT processes: solder paste printing, placement, reflow, and inspection.
- Familiarity with IPC standards, such as IPC-A-610.
- Ability to wear cleanroom attire and personal protective equipment, with the physical ability to bend, twist, lift up to 25 pounds, and stand for extended periods.
Nice to have
- Experience working in a PCB assembly and/or semiconductor manufacturing facility.
- Familiarity with J-STD-001.
