About the role
This position is responsible for scribe and break processing within a semiconductor laser wafer fabrication facility. The role involves developing scribe and break processes for new semiconductor laser devices while sustaining production and maintaining process control.
What you'll do
- Develop scribe and break processes for new semiconductor laser devices and sustain production processes in the scribe and break area. - Support associated metrology equipment pertinent to scribe and break operations. - Monitor SPC data, maintain process control, and characterize/optimize processes to develop CTRL plans and OCAPs. - Maintain process stepwise yield, investigate unit process yield issues, and develop and implement corrective actions. - Design and execute engineering experiments, write process specification documentation, and train Process Technicians on unit processes. - Lead continuous improvement activities to reduce scrap, improve process capability, reduce cost, and decrease cycle time.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Physics, Chemistry, Material Sciences, or a related field with 7+ years of semiconductor industry experience, a Master's degree with 5+ years, or a PhD with 3+ years. - Knowledge of general semiconductor wafer processing and engineering practices. - Knowledge of backgrind processing and technologies. - Knowledge of engineering statistics and fluency in JMP or other statistical software alongside the MS Office suite. - Ability to work in a Class 100/1000 cleanroom environment wearing full cleanroom attire and working around chemicals such as solvents and acids.
Nice to have
- InP semiconductor processing or optoelectronics device experience. - Knowledge of semiconductor lasers.
