About the role

As a Process Development Engineer, you will work hands-on with semiconductor equipment technology in Horsham, PA.

What you'll do

• Set up and clean up tools, develop DOEs, perform experiments, and summarize results for customer process demonstrations.
• Develop project requirements and perform experiments to gather data.
• Operate process equipment for process demonstrations or experiments.
• Learn and become competent with PSP software programs to execute process testing and runs.
• Improve understanding of mechanical components by writing test plans, performing experiments, and presenting data.
• Perform improvements on equipment sets and operate metrology equipment (SEM/EDX, profilometer, SP2) to gather data.
• Perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting of process tools.
• Perform preventative maintenance of all types on process equipment.
• Use mechanical, electrical, or plumbing skills to independently diagnose and fix electro/mechanical issues.
• Work with semiconductor production equipment, including chemical/mechanical/electrical upgrades or modifications.
• Adhere to safety protocols in a clean room environment.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, or a closely related technical field with 5+ years of relevant industry experience; or Master's degree with 3+ years; or PhD.
• Engineering-focused or highly related technical degree.
• Demonstrated hands-on technical aptitude and practical experience in a laboratory, manufacturing, or equipment development environment.
• Experience and knowledge of complex mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to perform data analysis (Python, JMP, or MatLab).
• Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing skills to diagnose and fix electro/mechanical issues.
• Knowledge of and experience with Metrology Equipment such as optical microscope, SEM, AFM, ellipsometer, surface particle measurement, profilometer, and four-point probe.
• Proficient computer skills, including MS OFFICE (Word and Excel) and ability to learn other software packages for equipment operation and data collection.
• Ability to work independently to achieve goals.
• Willingness and ability to follow procedures and adhere to safety protocols.
• Ability to work in clean-room attire and wear appropriate safety gear (PPE).

Nice to have

• Semiconductor equipment or process experience.
• Experience working in semiconductor or similar clean room fabs.
• Programming experience in Python or R, and familiarity with ML frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras.
