About the role
AMD is seeking a Principal Software Engineer, Agentic AI to rapidly build and prove new AI software opportunities and support agentic software development across the organization.
What you'll do
- Rapidly build prototypes and proofs of concept using agentic development workflows.
- Optimize prototypes on AMD platforms, going down the stack when needed.
- Work directly with partner engineering teams on joint technical work.
- Build and share agentic tools and workflows across the organization.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s, Master's, or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
- Broad experience shipping software across products, domains, and layers of the stack.
- Hands-on fluency with AI coding agents and agentic workflows.
- Hardware understanding from system level toward the metal, including CPU, GPU, and NPU architecture, memory, power, and thermals.
- Strong programming skills and experience with modern AI/ML frameworks and inference.
Nice to have
- Open source contributions.
- Graphics, gaming, or client platform experience.
