About the role
The Principal Engineer, Customer Quality owns driving customer interactions and acts as the primary liaison to customers on product and service quality and reliability topics.
What you'll do
- Coordinate investigations of customer complaints with local FA and PE teams, managing customer communications and claim management. - Partner with engineering and FA teams during quality issues to ensure global alignment and maintain customer relationships. - Review and submit customer-requested documentation, including product qualification and reliability reports, 8D reports, and FA reports. - Coordinate and participate in customer quality activities, including RFIs and audits. - Own PPAP preparation, successful execution, and customer approval. - Visit customer and factory sites as needed and lead cross-functional initiatives to improve customer scorecards.
What you'll need
- Minimum BS degree in engineering, business, quality, or related disciplines. - Minimum of 10 years of experience in a customer, manufacturing, or supplier quality role in the semiconductor area. - Background in semiconductor manufacturing processes, including wafer fab, package assembly, and test. - Proficiency with structured problem-solving methodologies, including 8D problem solving, Fishbone analysis, 5-Why, and Is/Is-Not analysis. - Competence in quality tools and process/production control methods such as APQP, Control Plans, FMEA, GD&T, MSA, PPAP, and SPC.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of CMOS and MEMS (Micro Electro-Mechanical Systems) devices.
