About the role
This is a Principal Digital Engineer position within Renesas' Analog and Mixed Signal Business Group responsible for architecting, designing, and implementing digital and mixed-signal ICs. The role contributes across all phases of development from product conception through silicon evaluation, circuit debugging, and production release.
What you'll do
- Architect, partition, and implement digital and mixed-signal IC designs from initial conception to production release. - Define chip architecture, deliver RTL coding, and perform simulation, synthesis, DFT, and timing check tasks. - Create detailed design documentation and support silicon evaluation, circuit debugging, and production test development. - Provide technical support for customer applications and collaborate on technology specifications for future products. - Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams across US sites and in China to deliver silicon on time and within cost targets.
What you'll need
- BSEE with 12+ years of relevant industry experience, or MSEE / Ph.D. with 8+ years of relevant industry experience in Electrical Engineering. - Proven experience in SOC architecture, AHB/APB/AXI, bus matrix, and interface protocols including USB, I2C/I3C, SPI, UART, and packet-oriented protocols. - Working knowledge of embedded memories including SRAM, OTP, MTP, and EE/Flash memory. - Hands-on experience across the design flow: chip architecture definition, partition, assignment, RTL coding, simulation, synthesis, DFT, and timing check. - Experience leveraging AI tools in daily engineering workflows.

- Mixed-signal chip development experience and mixed signal knowledge. - DDR DRAM and Flash memory knowledge. - Project management skills. - Bilingual proficiency with Mandarin fluency.
