About the role
A Plating Process Engineer oversees, optimizes, and troubleshoots chemical and electroplating manufacturing operations.
What you'll do
- Adjust bath formulas, voltage, and cycle times to achieve uniform metal thickness and prevent defects.
- Lead root cause analysis for yield losses, surface defects, or equipment failures using SPC and FMEA.
- Maintain chemical safety standards, monitor wastewater treatment, and adhere to environmental regulations (such as RoHS and REACH).
- Qualify new plating lines, materials, or equipment setups.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field.
- Understanding of electroplating, electroless plating, etching, and wet chemistry.
- Proficiency in Statistical Process Control (SPC), Design of Experiments (DOE), and Six Sigma methodologies.
