About the role
The Photonic Systems Engineer develops and executes automated validation and testing to quantify device performance for DWDM optical interconnects. The role focuses on characterizing optical links, photonic circuit architectures, and multi-wavelength silicon photonics.
What you'll do
- Develop and execute automated test and validation plans to quantify device performance.
- Develop and execute automated data analysis to inform photonic circuit architectures.
- Contribute to photonic control architecture and algorithm development and validation.
- Report measurement results and provide technical assessments of performance.
- Collaborate with Design, Fabrication, and Test teams to achieve goals.
What you'll need
- PhD in Electrical Engineering, or equivalently 5+ years of industry experience.
- Broad understanding and experience with photonic components and circuits.
- Hands-on experience characterizing high-data-rate optical links (IMDD/coherent).
- Ability to independently troubleshoot complex electrical and optical testbeds.
- Proficiency in Python for test automation and data analysis.
Nice to have
- Experience developing or operating high-throughput testbeds (wafer/die).
- Proficiency with optical link simulation tools and methodologies (VPI or equivalent).
- Familiarity with S-Parameter measurements and analysis methodologies.
- Familiarity with electronic simulation tools such as HFSS, ADS, etc.
Skills: optical links, testbeds, Python, coherent, validation
