About the role

As a Defect Metrology Equipment Engineer, you will optimize and maintain metrology systems for manufacturing, collaborating with equipment development, operations, automation, and manufacturing teams to enhance yield systems and ensure product integrity. This role is crucial for implementing a new Win It Inline initiative, which uses advanced real-time monitoring to improve yield learning cycles by providing more data throughout the manufacturing process.

What you'll do

• Perform statistical analysis and develop visualizations to construct accurate process development roadmaps.
• Develop methods and systems to analyze diverse big data sources, leading to yield modeling and process roadmap definition.
• Develop and maintain systems that enable faster interpretation of fab process, defect, and electrical data to drive process changes for yield enhancement.
• Transform experimental and manufacturing data into yield improvement actions.
• Ensure manufacturability over process and product design through thorough analysis.
• Execute new product introductions and participate in design of experiments.
• Develop tools and algorithms for high-volume data analysis to identify yield limiters.
• Harden equipment systems to meet operational needs for logic nodes.
• Develop AI/ML applications to improve patterning solutions and design efficiency.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure data integrity and implement custom algorithms.

What you'll need

• 3+ months experience with Yield and Defect Metrology equipment (e.g., KLA, AMAT, ASML HMI, TEL, Keysight, Advantest, and Hitachi).
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics Engineering, Material Science Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Statistics/Data Science, Chemistry, Physics, or related field of study AND 2+ years relevant experience OR Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics Engineering, Material Science Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Statistics/Data Science, Chemistry, Physics, or related field of study AND 1+ years relevant experience.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree and 2+ years of applications experience with defect metrology tools.
• Knowledge of Semiconductor fabrication and processing techniques (Lithography, Etch, CMP, Thin Films, Plating, etc.), Statistical Process Control and Design of experiments (DOE) principles, Statistical Data Analysis (JMP/JSL, Python, SQL) and/or Programing Experience in JMP/JSL, Python, R and SQL.
• Experience in Laser Optics, Scanning Electron Microscopy, Digital Signal Processing, and Image Processing.
• Experience in technical documentation, training, and project management.
• 3+ years of New Technology startup experience.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in Process/Yield Engineering.
• Experience in manufacturing environment.
• Experience in metrology.
