About the role
AMD is hiring an MTS Software Development Engineer to research, design, develop, and test operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software for semiconductor operations.
What you'll do
- Plan, design, develop, and test software systems for software enhancements and new products.
- Set operational specifications and formulate or analyze software requirements.
- Participate in code reviews, create unit tests, and author detailed technical documentation.
- Coordinate feature design and development across functional and organizational boundaries with on-site and offshore teams.
- Partake in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from system requirements analysis to production delivery.
What you'll need
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Applied Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 3 years of experience, or Bachelor's degree with 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience.
- 3 years of experience with object-oriented programming languages including Java, C#, or C++.
- 3 years of experience developing low-latency, high-performance applications with multi-threading and concurrent programming.
- 3 years of experience with messaging systems or event-driven architectures.
- 3 years of experience with software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies, including debugging, performance tuning, and production support.
- 3 years of experience with version control systems including SVN or GitHub.
- 3 years of experience working in Linux or Unix and Windows environments.
