About the role
This role involves researching, developing, and optimizing machine learning framework and compiler components based on performance and code-size needs for customer workloads and benchmarks. You will focus on software solutions and integration tailored for Qualcomm's SOCs spanning mobile, edge, and embedded platforms.
What you'll do
- Research, design, develop, enhance, and implement components of machine learning framework and compilers based on workload and benchmark constraints.
- Analyze software requirements, evaluate design feasibility, consult with architecture and hardware engineers, and implement software solutions for Qualcomm SOCs.
- Analyze and identify system-level integration issues while interfacing with software development, integration, and test teams.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field with 2+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 1+ year of experience, or a PhD.
- Experience in hardware engineering, software engineering, or systems engineering work.
Nice to have
- Internal working knowledge of machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow, and model-level optimization techniques like torch compile.
- Experience with LLVM or industrial-strength compiler development and compiler internals.
- Hands-on experience with SIMD, multi-threaded high-performance code, or DSP kernels.
- Hands-on experience in C/C++ (including C++14/17 advanced features) and Python development.
- Familiarity with object-oriented design and TDD development frameworks such as GoogleTest.
- Prior experience with hardware accelerators, hardware software co-design, and ML compiler workload synthesis.
- Experience at firmware (RTOS) and system level (Linux) in SOC environments, alongside software profiling and optimization techniques.
- Experience with programming in memory and source code management using Git.
