Develop custom ASIC data converter solutions and transceiver ASICs in CMOS and BiCMOS technologies.
About the role
This role is part of the Mixed-Signal ASIC Design section within Keysight Laboratories, developing custom application-specific integrated circuits for electronic test and measurement products. Technical areas include custom data converters in GHz applications, core ADC and DAC structures, streaming I/O data paths, and transceiver ASICs in CMOS and BiCMOS technologies.
What you'll do
- Design custom ASIC data converter solutions in GHz applications, implementing core ADC and DAC structures and streaming I/O data paths. - Develop communication transceiver ASICs using CMOS and BiCMOS technologies. - Execute transistor-level design and physical design for high-speed analog and mixed-signal circuits. - Implement mixed-signal building blocks and integrated systems, including PLLs, DACs, serializers, ADCs, and wideband amplifiers. - Troubleshoot technical challenges and drive to root cause on complex circuit designs. - Document and present technical design results across engineering teams.
What you'll need
- PhD in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field, or an M.S. in Electrical Engineering with substantial experience in IC design. - Experience designing high-speed analog and mixed-signal circuits in CMOS or BiCMOS technologies. - Direct experience in both transistor-level design and physical design. - Experience designing mixed-signal building blocks and integrated systems such as PLLs, DACs, serializers, ADCs, or wideband amplifiers. - U.S. person status or ability to obtain required U.S. export control authorizations (no visa sponsorship provided).
Nice to have
- Thesis work focused on mixed-signal IC design. - Demonstrated experience through a complete mixed-signal design and fabrication cycle. - Strong working knowledge of higher GHz clock, DAC, and ADC circuits. - Solid background in device modelling, thermal design, IC package design, semiconductor parasitics, signal integrity, and EM issues. - Experience with at least the 65 nm process node. - Experience with mixed-mode simulation of analog and digital blocks, behavioral modelling using Verilog or Verilog-A, and programming/scripting for automation. - Experience with synthesized digital design flows, using RTL descriptions to deliver verified netlists for physical synthesis. - Ability to perform hands-on measurements using test and measurement equipment.

How we counted: 150 open Mixed-Signal Design (Mixed Signal) roles from 39 employers tracked in the SemiconductorJobs index, counted 27 Oct 2026. Specialty figures count only roles carrying this exact specialty label, so an employer's related work in neighbouring specialties is not included there — it is counted in the wider Analog & Mixed-Signal family row.
